‘GLASSHOUSE’ BOTANICAL COLLABORATION

VENUE: COVE, Portobello High Street (Venue 26) PLEASE NOTE This is a change of venue to the published programme, previously at FRIDAY ST.
‘Glasshouse’ The windows and interior will be transformed into an evolving botanical installation full of local flowers and foliage, to create an immersive portrait of place and a curious intervention on the High Street created by Jenny Bell Harman.
Photographer Alicia Bruce will make a series of photographic ‘portraits’ of selected donated botanicals in her pop up studio. Inspired by botanical drawings, these will be available for purchase and showcased here along with documentation of the collaboration.

PORTOBELLO PHOTOGRAPHY SCHOOL STILL LIFE WORKSHOP
Portobello Photography School are also running a day workshop 'The Still Life' at St Marks Church (venue 29) on Sat 7th Sept 10am-4.30pm
A day making still life photographs. From simple product shots, to Dutch painting inspired masterpieces to contemporary photographs. Workshop participants will also have the opportunity to exhibit their best still life photographs from the day at an exhibition as part of Edinburgh Open Doors day at St Marks on Saturday 28th. Exhibition curated by Alicia Bruce.

‘Glasshouse’ in its first format was de-installed to mark the end of Art Walk Porty on Monday 16th September 2019. The installation lasted for twelve days.
THANK YOU to everyone who participated, donated and visited ‘Glasshouse’. An archive of images and material has been created which will be developed and shared in the future. Thanks especially to Art Walk, Cove, our community, peers, friends and families. You rock!
